Recruiting: GCOMS UK Co-ordinator

GCOMS UK is seeking a paid Co-ordinator (freelance) to bring together its various activities.

Hours: 13 hours/week

Remuneration: £25/hr

Duration: 3 years (already part-funded).

Location: Working remotely

GCOMS is an international campaigning organisation that works to challenge the priority given by governments to military spending rather than environmental and social programmes. The UK branch has some 30 Supporting Organisations (including the Fellowship of Reconciliation) and a Steering Group composed of representatives of some of these bodies. Every year it promotes the Global Days of Action on Military Spending/GDAMS, as well as other activities at different times.

We are seeking a self-motivated and conscientious person whose main roles will be to assist GCOMS UK to:

  • Strengthen our advocacy work by enabling individuals and organisations to achieve more in support of GCOMS
  • Further develop the existing digital-first communications strategy and resources
  • Build links with parliamentary, media, academic and other key contacts
  • Network with Supporting Organisations and broader sectors and movements to build the profile of the campaign.

There will be a three-month probationary period.
